Ode to the Mighty Pen

The pen is mightier than the sword.

Without the pen, most people's thoughts would be lost forever.

Without the pen, much knowledge would never be conveyed.

Some people might never know how much they are loved were it not for the pen, for it is much easier for some people to put their emotions on paper than to utter the words of love.

The pen can be a tool to lift the spirit, but it can also be a tool of destruction in the hands of an evil heart.

Many a good man has been brought down by the end of a pen, his reputation whittled away with every stroke.

Wars have been declared at the end of a pen, leading to the extinction of entire nations.

The deaths of the guilty emanate from the pen as the judge touches his pen to the death warrant.

The record of who we are would never be known, if not for the pen.

The pen makes it possible for us to reveal to future generations that we were here, that our lives mattered. Our births, our baptisms, our daily diaries, even our deaths, are all recorded for future generations to get to know us as individuals and as a people, because of the mighty pen.

The pen is indeed mightier than the sword.
